Happy and Hera

Monday morning was yet another hectic day in the barn.  Greyden was finishing up feeding the babies when he looked in at the pregnant does and saw Hummingbird licking off a kid!  The alarm was sounded and everyone showed up to help take care of the babies and the mama.

All of the children started throwing out names, but Jade took a different tack.  “Mommy, can we pleeeeease name her ‘Happy?’ Please, oh please…”  Well, Jade doesn’t ask for much, so I decided we could name her ‘Happenstance,’ but call her ‘Happy.’  Her sister is named Hera by overwhelming consent.  Seems the children still are interested in their Percy Jackson books*.  So, meet Happy and Hera!
