Yo Ho!

“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me.”

At least, that is what my brothers want… a pirate’s life. I dont think they are going to get it though.

Recently the boys have been on a pirate kick. It all started when they got Mom’s permission to watch the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  Since they watched it, they have not stopped spouting pirate nonsense.

Greyden remembered we had pirate hats and bottles in the dress up trunk, so he dug them out:

The boys also decided to make pirate flags:

They made extra ones in case any broke:

I wonder how many kids have taken clear trash bags and used a permanent marker to draw a skull and crossbones on it?  Actually, they kinda missed out on the “crossbones” thing.  Instead they drew a “skull and swords” flag. Maybe they thought that looked cooler?

Hewitt wanted to make sure the flags worked well in a breeze and wouldn’t come off their sticks.  Since there was no breeze, he decided to make his own by running as fast as he could:

Until he reached the playground:

Apparently he lost the flag somewhere, and picked up a sword…

After he decided that I and my camera were no threat, he decided to go up into the look-out nest and make sure there were no enemy ships on the horizon:

But all he saw were his own flags, fluttering in the breeze that appeared out of no-where…

So, lookout duty done, he was free to go and terrorize the next person who came along.

Which was me!  Yo ho!
