Many of the quotes are humorous or sweet but this one, I have to say, is so true and so practical! It took me a few more years than I want to admit to learn it, and some regretted purchases. Sure, if I want or need it, and it doesn’t displace anything more important (including emergency funds), it’s possible that the great deal is also a good decision. But it’s far from guaranteed. Such an important thing to realize.
It really is true. I said that as I was counseling somebody not to make a purchase that I believed to be a bad decision. He bought it anyway. Which just proves that sometimes we have to learn these things on our own and make the mistakes before we learn it. The important thing is that you have learned it!! And my children are learning it young which is a great thing too. PJ
