We have lived in our current home for seven years. That’s the longest I’ve ever lived in one place, and it’s half my life time. I really like Indiana and all of the stuff we’ve been able to do out here.
In seven years we have built a lot of stuff here:
1. Built friendships that (I hope) will last a lifetime.
2. Built a huge barn.
3. Built a business.
4. Built snowmen
5. Built swing sets
6. Built several dams
7. Built lots of fences
8. Built a toy shed
9. Built goat shelters
10. Built a chicken coop and pig hut
There’s a lot more, but those are the first ten things I could think of.
We have also had a lot of animals on this property:
1. We had a cow. And her calf. We called the calf Hamburger.
2. We had pigs. We had 6 mini pigs (and a whole bunch of piglets). They are not half as pretty as they look in all the movies.
3. We had turkeys. I hated those things… and we had a bunch. Actually, some of the turkeys hatched their own eggs and raised their babies. That was pretty awesome.
4. We had sheep. Sheep are a pain.
5. We had rabbits. Rabbits are yummy. Sorry if you don’t like that thought – they’re also very cute.
6. We had chickens. I liked the eggs, but not the birds. Actually, I was ok with the hens. But roosters and I had a horrible relationship. It got to where I would refuse to go into the pasture if a certain leghorn rooster was out there. You know why? Because he jumped up into my face, and flapped his wings and tried to peck at me. My brothers went out there with a bunch of wiffle balls to protect me. I really loved my brothers right then. 😀
7. We had dogs. Alex, Shelby, and their puppies. Oh and Foley.
8. We have cats.
9. We have goats.
10. We have more goats.
The goats and cats are definitely our favorites. Actually baby goats and kittens are our favorites, but we still like them when they’re grown up.
Yep, we’ve done a lot on this property and other than the fact that Indiana doesn’t have the ocean, it’s a pretty great place to live.
Wow! It sounds like you've done tons in seven years… btw, I've never had rabbit but being from Michigan, we've had deer.
