One of the best parts of Fall is going apple picking. Our favorite apples are Fujis because they taste the best and store in our root cellar really well.
It was a gorgeous day and everybody had fun hanging out waiting for the tractor ride to the Fuji apples.
Hewitt and Indigo had fun playing with the sign boards:
While we were waiting for the tractor, the children found a conveyor belt expelling apple pulp:
Finally the tractor arrived and we were off to the orchard:
Fuji apples are the best!:
Brett was really bummed when she realized that she couldn’t bite into the apples because of her braces. But she came prepared with a knife to cut the apples:
When we were done apple picking, we hung around the farm. The children really liked the corn stalks that were turned into a giant horse. But they really wanted to ride them (notice Jade’s reaction to being informed that she couldn’t sit on them):
Fletcher’s favorite color is green. He was in heaven on this green tractor:
Then we walked over to the duck and fish pond:
Jade misunderstood the concept of feeding the duck food to the ducks and ate it instead:
While most of the kids went on the deck to watch the fish, Emery went underneath to get up close and personal:
We got a couple of group photos:
And then it was time to go so we said goodbye to the giant hay bale people:
A video summary of some of our afternoon (be sure to note how gentle Jade is with the apples):
Gotta love apple picking!
