In general, I love almost all aspects of having a large family. There is one aspect that I intensely dislike, however.
And that is the semi-annual clothes changeover.
Managing clothes for 8 children is never easy, but when it’s time to switch from summer to winter clothes (or winter to summer) – ugh, what a nightmare!!
We’ve been working on it for several days.
Today, the boys got all their clothes out and separated them into piles based on size and type (shorts, pants, short-sleeve shirt, etc.)
That took most of the morning, so by the time they finished their soap work, school work, play time, dinner time, and chores it was 8:00 and time for bed. I went into the boys room to tuck the younger kids in, and I admit, out of my mouth popped, “Oh CRUD! Where is Emery going to sleep?”
Because of course, the boys had sorted ALL of their clothes (5 boys’ worth of clothes) onto Emery’s bed!!
(When am I ever going to learn to be more specific with them!)
I heard Jim laughing in the dining room. When I asked him why he was laughing, he said, “Is that what you’re going to call your blog post tonight? – Oh crud! Where is Emery going to sleep?”
I decided that was as good a post title as any (although I did remove the “Oh CRUD” part from the title).
You know you’ve got a winner when the spouse calls it for you!
My thoughts exactly!! PJ
I don’t enjoy the seasonal switch and there’s just 3 of us in our family! hahaha!
I know! I hate it. LOL PJ
