Where’s Indigo?

The other day, we were all in the soaproom getting our work done, and we couldn’t find Indigo. We weren’t sure if she was hiding in the house, or in the barn, but she wasn’t in the retail room, which is where she usually is if she’s in the soaproom.

Imagine how surprised Mom was when she found Indigo, tucked away on top of some boxes full of soap, ignoring the world because she was reading!

I had just introduced her to the Goose Girl series, which is one of my favorite book series. She was so wrapped up in them that she carried them everywhere. She finished The Goose Girl* in five days, Enna Burning* in a week, and she’s almost done with River Secrets*! She’s going crazy because she hasn’t figured out who is on the cover of Forest Born* yet – she keeps trying to trick me into telling her.

It makes me so happy to see my little sister falling in love with the same books I did. I’m going to have to figure out which series to give her next.

There are so many good choices!

  1. I really enjoy your updates, and my family loves your soap products! I have a ten year old and a very mature twelve year old. If you have time, could you list other books that you recommend? Thanks so much!!

    • Rebekah – I have been trying to get to that for years. I’ll bump it up on the list and see what I can do. 🙂

    • That’s the main focus of my homeschool during their elementary years. Teach them to LOVE reading and become very proficient at it. The hardest part is continuing to find good books to put before them. 🙂 PJ

  2. I used to hide books under my pillow at night and read when I was supposed to be sleeping. it’s so much fun to get lost in a story.

  3. Has Indigo read the Boxcar Children series yet? I used to read to my nieces; they enjoyed them a great deal!

  4. Great suggestions on book series! My 7yo son is halfway through Boxcar Children, and I wanna keep his interest in book series. Wanting to find good clean authors is difficult nowadays… Especially Christian ones. Any more suggestions are welcome!

        • OK – we’re just starting to figure out how we want to pin for it, so it will be changing and having new stuff pinned in the next few weeks. 🙂 PJ

          • I’m trying to decide whether to keep all of the books on one board or separate out my books (parenting, homeschooling, business). What do you think? PJ

    • They all are – it is one of the main goals of my homeschool. If you love to read, the whole world is open to you!! PJ
