Playing at the New House

Construction has been underway at the new house for several months.  We asked our builder to “switch gears” and get the barn done because we wanted to move the goats before they got too far into their pregnancies.   Because of that, the crew is just now getting the roof on the house.

The other day it rained really hard and then the temperatures dropped.  The children decided to take advantage of the opportunity:

Construction sites (following the safety rules) can be so much fun!

  1. Oh my goodness! That house is a mansion! I’m sure your big family will love having all that space. 🙂

    • Hey Beth – I wouldn’t go so far as to say “mansion”, but it’s pretty big.  Bigger than I wanted it to be, in fact.  But this is the house we plan to retire in and we wanted it big enough for the children to bring back their families and us all have Thanksgiving dinner together. 🙂  PJ

    • Yeah, it’s bigger than I wanted it to be. LOL  But Jim and I wanted to be able to retire on the first floor and not have to go upstairs in our “old age”, so the first floor is kinda big.  But the left portion of the house is all garage.  PJ

  2. Wow that is some house. Looks like a similar construction to ours. Popping over from the outdoor play party

    • We currently have a cape and we love it.  We just took that basic design and fixed all the things we don’t like about it. LOL  Welcome!  PJ

    • Thanks!  I’ve got a ton of them to post.  Indigo is cropping and resizing a bunch of them for me. 🙂

  3. It is wonderful to see the many blessings God has showered on the Jonas family. Looks like you will have an extra room available at the new house…looking to adopt a 9th Jonas member?!

    • Thanks, Kar! He truly has blessed us in so many ways. No plans on a 9th yet. But all our family is out of state, so we always have guests. 🙂 PJ

  4. We may be building this year so I thought this would be a great one to read. We live in the desert though… so we’d be much more apt to find scorpions than ice!
