Indigo and Jade have been having difficulty keeping their room clean lately. It’s been causing Brett a lot of despair because she cleans it and they wreck it.
So she cleans it.
And then they wreck it.
Yesterday, Jim told the girls they had to stay in their room and clean it. He was very clear that they could not leave their room until it was clean.
Unfortunately, Jade was having a bit of trouble with her attention span and completing the task. She’d do a little bit of work and then go into the boys room and play with the toys that were in there.
So Jim would send her back to her room. This happened repeatedly.
Jim and I were sitting in the dining room during all of this. I had my back to the bedrooms, but Jim was facing the bedrooms.
I was having a discussion with Colter and Emery about a video project that I had for them.
Me: “I need you to take separate videos of each of the individual goats in different locations. I want you to concentrate on two things. Number 1: Keep the camera still. Don’t jiggle it around and walk all over. Number 2: Be aware of the background. Don’t have the goats in the front and one of your brothers in the background making silly faces or anything like…”
Jim: (interrupts me and laughingly says) “You mean things in the background like camouflaged girls sneaking into their brothers’ room when they’re supposed to be cleaning their own?”
Me (confused): “What?”
Jim (grabbing the video camera from the boys): “Turn around.”
So I did, and watched this:
and then I watched this:
Needless to say, we laughed at the time, and then Jim had a discipline session for their disobedience and sneakiness.
But I admit, we laughed a long time first. 😀
This was a riot. It makes me laugh when kids think you can’t see them yet it is so obvious!
I know, it’s like when they have chocolate all over their face and you ask, “Did you eat any chocolate?” and they respond… “No”

Greatest moment! Love it.
It still makes me laugh. 😉 PJ
