Ms. Gretchen showed up the Monday after Easter with a bag in her hand. She opened the bag, and pulled out first one chocolate bunny and then another! She explained that the smaller one was for the girls, and the larger one was for the boys. (The egg was for Mom and Dad).
Boys: (After studying the packages) “Hey! They get almost five ounces each! and we don’t even get four! No Fair!!”
Girls: “Is too fair!”
Boys: “No, it’s not! We work harder, why should you get more chocolate?”
Girls: “Nuh uh! We work just as hard as you, maybe even harder some times!”
At this point Mom stepped in and told us to thank Ms. Gretchen, and then get to our chores. She said we could eat the bunnies later.
(A week later…)
Boys: “Mom? When are we going to eat the chocolate bunnies?”
Mom: “When Grandma gets here.” (Grandma was flying in for Emery’s birthday)
(A few days later…)
Girls: “Mom, Grandma has been here for 2 days! When are we going to eat the chocolate bunnies!?!?!”
Mom: (reluctantly) “I guess you can eat them when the work is done…”
The work was done super fast that day. 😀
I did not take many pictures. I was too busy cutting up the girls’ bunny. But here are a few.
Abigail, (Ms. Gretchen’s daughter) Indigo, and Jade:
Cutting up the boys’ bunny. They actually weighed their portions. Had to make sure that it was fair, right?:

And Indigo with her plate of chocolate:
Thank you for the bunnies, Ms. Gretchen!
Everybody loved theirs!!
(Oh, and Mom and Dad’s egg is still sitting on Mom’s dresser. Mom says they’re in the middle of doing P90X and maybe the egg would be their celebration when they’re finished. I think she’ll probably just give it to us to eat. )
That is a hilarious story. I love how much kids love chocolate/candy. They will do just about anything for it.
