The following is a guest post by Brett (she had so much fun writing yesterday’s post and I have so much work to do, it was a win/win). PJ
We had the best Thanksgiving ever. And don’t try to tell me I’m wrong, ’cause I wont listen.
Grandma, Poppy, Uncle Adam and his family arrived on the 24th. One of our distributors got us this really cool edible arrangement. Jade and Aiden could not wait to get their hands on that:
And then it was time to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade snuggle:
After that it was time to play on the green screen:
Once we were done taping, it was time to watch the videos that we made:
After all that, Jade was really tired. And what is better than snuggling with your favorite kitty when you are tired?
Late Friday night, Uncle Pete and his new family (remember our trip?) came in from Michigan. It was a crazy night, where the older girls stayed up till 2 am (it was a whole lot of fun!). The next day, Saturday, we were very tired. No surprise. After we did the internet orders, we went into the house, and sat around and talked about our thanksgiving play:. Then the boys came in and talked with us:
When the boys decided they were done talking, they wanted to do something active. All the girls said, “no way!”. We just wanted to sit and talk about the play, and then practice it. So the boys went out and played football.
Then it was lunch time. The girls ate, and then we called the boys in. They ate their lunch. Saturday was also Grandma’s Birthday. After everyone was done eating, we brought in the cake:
Grandma was crying after we gave her flowers (yellow roses) and all of our cards. And my Grandma does not cry a lot.
Once we were done with all the crying, and talking, and laughing, we all sat down and ate cake. And yes, that is 17 kids at our table. (It’s a good thing we are not big people):
It was really good:
After that we went to see Tangled in 3D. It was awesome! I really liked how the hero saves her at the end. Uncle Pete’s kids had seen it before, and some of the girls fell asleep during the movie! That is how tired we were! LOL
Then we went to CiCi’s Pizza for dinner. It was REALLY good. By the time we got home, it was 7:00. And we still had not practiced the play! So we ran around like chickens with our heads cut off. We had some problems with the costumes. Cole would NOT stay in anything we put him in!! So I told ‘Kala to go and announce the play, so we would have to go down. That way he would have to wear what we put him in, or go bare-shirted. He was not liking the second option. There were to many girl cousins there.
The play could have gone better, but I’m glad it went as well as it did. If you want to see it, it’s here.
It was a wonderful weekend. I hope that next year’s celebration is as fun, and that we can get ALL the cousins together. It was 20 people last year, 25 this year, maybe next year we can get Ty, Aunt Donna, Victor and his parents too! That would be 30! There is a pattern there. Wonder who we will add the next year. Maybe my Dad’s side of the family – there are 5 of them!
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend too!
