Child Training

One of the ways we get our house to run is for everyone to pitch in and help with the work – even the youngest children. Sometimes that works really well. Sometimes it just makes more work.

One of the easiest jobs for Hewitt, Indigo, and Jade to do is cleaning off the table and loading the dishwasher. They cleaned off the table the other day. Later on, I found this:

VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100

Yes, those are paper plates.

I just laughed and called Jim to look. He laughed and got the camera and took the picture. A couple of days later, Jim found this:

VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100

He just laughed and called me to look. I laughed and got the camera and took a picture.

The funniest part of the second picture was that the dishwasher was actually run with the dishes loaded like that. And no, the bottom dishes did not get cleaned. They were gross. But at least it is better than the time that we found a set of 10 dinner dishes put away in the cabinet.

What’s wrong with that, you ask? They hadn’t been cleaned! They were put away in the cabinet as is – dried and caked on dinner and all!

Unfortunately that time Jim didn’t laugh – but I still did.

Sometimes the children need a little extra child training!

  1. Thats great!!! I think that children should at least be able pick up after themsleves and pitch in and help out with thing. I am not really at that point with my daughter Isabelle, who is only almost 14 months. However, she does like to help out!!!! Stuff like laundry or picking up or something like that. All though ussually she takes out faster than you can pick up. But she does put somethings away!!!
