Sugar and Spice

We had a craft show a couple of weekends ago. It was a pretty day and we had a family date after the show, so we brought everyone. After a while, Indigo got bored of coloring and asked if she could give out free soap samples. Emery set her up:

She was really sweet and talked to the customers and gave them their samples and business cards:

After about ten minutes, she got bored and decided to stop. Jade then decided that SHE wanted to hand out samples too. Since she’s too little to sit on the stool by herself, Brett stood with her:

She wasn’t quite as sweet as Indigo:

In fact, this was the face she gave most of the people:

It was hysterical. Jim calls Indigo and Jade “Sugar and Spice”. Indigo being Sugar and Jade being Spice. This is just a perfect example of Sugar and Spice in action.

  1. I recently discoverd your blog and your web-site and reading your story about your gorgeous family and soap-making together brought tears to my eyes. I love what you are doing, I commend you for raising a family the way you are and want you to know that you and your family are an inspiration! xo Jen

    • I know! It cracks me up every single time I watch it. Especially the part where Brett shows her how to say it nicely, Jade says it nicely, then turns around and yells at the customer! Hysterical! PJ

      • That is my favorite part! She says it so sweetly and then bam! I watched this 6 times with my baby girl and she just keeps laughing.Too funny!

  2. That is not only one of the cutest video’s I’ve seen in a while other than my friend Matt’s 5 year old daughter taking her first paragliding flight. You need to put a warning on this video for extreme hysterical laughing. I watched it on break my co-workers think I’m crazy now I just about fell out of my chair laughing. I will be watching this video multiple times.

    • I agree – this video makes me laugh every single time I watch it. We yell at each other all the time – “DO YOU WANT A SAMPLE?!?” PJ

    • I think she would be much happier to give one to you now. Especially if she considers you “a lady”. LOL PJ

  3. How sweet! When my baby was a few years younger, we were watching my grandbaby, who was probably about 3 at the time. My baby had to sell girl scout cookies at a booth. Grandbaby decided to help, and while I have to think my daughter is pretty much a sweetie, not many people could resist my adorable granddaughter calling out to them to buy cookies 🙂

  4. Your kids are adorable and it was very cute and cool to watch them be so involved in the family business.

  5. Wow, four years doesn’t seem very long in the grand scheme of things but I can see how much your children have grown compared to the pictures and video clip here!

  6. I’d so take a sample from Jade. She was so cute, with her “Dooo you want a zample”. Love it 🙂

    • I would have too. Some of the people definitely didn’t know what to make of her though. LOL PJ

  7. Oh my goodness that was hilarious and adorable and I would have gotten a sample and died laughing because she is just so cute.
