While we were in NYC, we did a lot of walking. And while we were doing a lot of walking, we saw a lot of cool things. We walked on Wall Street (which the kids wanted to do because of this video).

And we saw the New York Stock Exchange.

We walked in Central Park and took pictures with this statue.

And we took pictures of us on the rocks, (no, Fletcher is not about to fall off, that’s the pose he wanted).

And we took pictures on the playground.

And we took more pictures on the rocks.

We stopped at FAO Schwarz and met this Tin Soldier,

And played on the Big Piano (made famous by this scene).

And we took pictures with the Lego figures,

We went to Rockefeller Plaza, 

And we saw where they film The Today Show, which we’ve been on, though we didn’t get to go to NYC for that.

Then we stopped by the New York Public Library, and we were all kinda disappointed in it, (“Where are all the books?”) but we had fun taking pictures by the lions.

We stopped by Grand Central Station and visited the “whispering gallery”, a way to communicate in whispers across a crowded station. (It’s really cool, and you can find out a bit more about it here.)

We also stopped at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which was under construction, but we could still sit inside. We saw the UN from a distance – as we were walking down there, several emergency vehicles were there.  They also didn’t have the flags up, so we didn’t go any further. We stopped at the American Girl store for the little girls, the Lego store for the boys, and the library for me.

We got to see so many things during our five days in NYC –  the 9/11 Memorial, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, three Broadway shows, the TV studio where we filmed The Huckabee show, and all of the things I’ve mentioned above.

We got to meet so many great people, eat a ton of great food, and we truly had an amazing time doing amazing things. It was such a jam-packed trip! As Grandma said, “I’ve seen more in New York in these five days than I’ve ever seen before.”  And that’s saying a lot because Grandma has lived most of her life in New Jersey.

We’re so thankful that we had the opportunity to go to New York!  The kids are already talking about what we’re going to do if we get to go back!
