Hard at Work

When we have a full day of work ahead of us, we all get our hands dirty! I’ve talked before about how we implement the “youngest person rule” where the youngest person capable of doing a certain job is the one who does it. Here are just a few ways we put that rule to use in the soap room and around the farm.  Hewitt starts by letting the chickens out and collecting eggs.

The soap needs to be unmolded, the molds scraped, and the soap cut into bars and samples.

Laundry soap needs to be shredded.

And soap bagged.

And sugar scrubs made.

And soap scraped off the floors.

And even I do some of the work.

And of course we all have lots of fun! The kids love sharing stories and singing songs while they work.

Work hard. Get dirty. Use good soap.  That’s our life (and we love it!)
