The Lion King

We’ve been on a Disney kick lately.

Grandma got the children the Lion King Soundtrack. Here is a shot of Hewitt “reading” the soundtrack booklet.

And here is Greyden and Hewitt singing:

They’re singing Hakuna Matata.

It means no worries.

That song is ok, and I don’t mind them singing it. There is one song that gets them in trouble, however. It’s Scar’s song.

You see, during that song, the hyenas sing, “NO King, No King, tra la la la la la.”

Even that isn’t a problem. The problem is in Scar’s response. Hewitt likes to go around quoting it. In a rather loud voice.

For those of you non-Lion King experts, the response is, “IDIOTS! I WILL BE KING!”

When my four year old goes around screaming “IDIOTS! I WILL BE KING!” at all his older siblings, (and any other adults that happen to be around) – well, it can cause some interesting responses.

Fortunately, Jim and I are fast learners. We’ve learned not to sing Lion King songs for hours before going out in public.

  1. my girls like Monsters Inc, but they too come out with some not so great in public quotes from it.
