Homestead Happenings 1/26/2020

Leslie Samuels and Family with the Jonas Family

If you’ve been following us for quite some time, and you’ve been reading my Homestead Happenings, you may have read in a September post about me meeting a bunch of super cool people at a conference. Well, while we were at Disney World, Leslie Samuels came to see us with his family! Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad earache and couldn’t enjoy a lot of it. But when my ear wasn’t hurting, I had tons of fun with them! And everybody else had a great time the whole time!

Noah in boneyard

We first went to the Animal Kingdom with them, and we went to the Festival of the Lion King show. Noah and Odelia (the kids) loved that show! After we did that, we took them to DinoLand to eat lunch, and then play in the playground. While they were playing, we took Leslie to Expedition Everest (my favorite ride ever!) and rode that.

Nemo

After Expedition Everest, we went to Finding Nemo the Musical and watched that. That was Noah’s favorite, but Odelia liked the Lion King better. So they each had a favorite which was good!

Greyden and Odelia

We then decided to go to Epcot, and we went to the jumping fountains. They had so much fun playing and trying to catch the water, but not getting wet! After we were all done with that we went to go eat dinner. And then we went to the aquarium and saw all of the animals! It was a super fun day, and I’m so glad that they were able to come to Disney and spend the day with us.

Odelia playing

This was one of the few days that I had a complete day in the parks, so I put a lot of detail into it. Mainly because this was one of the only days we were all together. And no one was sick, so we were all super happy about that.

The next day my earache had still not gotten better, so I decided to stay in the room all day. As well as the next day.

Colter and Emery had driven down to Florida, so they drove back up as well, and Greyden flew with us. They left super early that morning, but we had gotten everything packed the night before so that we didn’t have to have it at the airport.

And then it was time for us to leave We said goodbye to Grandma and Poppy and got on the Magical Express which would take us to the airport. We got to the airport, only to have our flight delayed 3 hours. I was super upset about that because we had had an appointment for me to go and get my ear checked out as soon as we got home. But with the delay, we wouldn’t get there in time, and they would close before we landed.

When we got home we couldn’t really do anything because Colter and Emery weren’t home with our luggage yet. We had to wait a few hours for them. So we watched a Dukes of Hazzard, which is what Mom got us for Christmas! She bought all 7 seasons, and we’ve been watching it as a family! Although if Emery, Colter, or Greyden isn’t there, we’ve gotten permission to watch it without them.

The next day I went to get my ear checked out and turns out it was an infection. Which is what most of us thought it was because it still hadn’t gone away. It is still clogged, and I can’t hear out of it, but It hasn’t hurt since the 24th, so that’s good!

Emery's Frisbee team

On the 25th, Colter, Emery, and Ashton went to a Frisbee competition, and they had so much fun! They’re team finished 5th out of 8 teams, and they are super happy about that and thankful not to be 8th out of 8! And afterward, they apparently went to Chick-fil-A.

That was a pretty great week. Unfortunately, I didn’t get like any pictures. But there was a lot happening, so I wanted to write about it, even If we don’t have photos.
