I was feeding Vashti when someone came running into the milk room. “Zipporah is having her babies!”

Vashti’s stomach was full enough that I decided she was done for now, so I set her down and grabbed a stack of towels for Zipporah’s birth.

She was in kidding pen A, with half of my family and Jason.

Zipporah moved quickly, and within minutes we had our first baby – a buckling – on the ground, and we decided to name him Zachary.

A minute later, his brother Zeppoli was born.

And several minutes after that, little sister Zilla was born!

We brought them into the milk room to dry them off, feed them, do their paperwork, and get their collars on. 

With Zipporah’s two bucklings to one doeling, the bucklings were starting to creep up on the doelings. We always hope for a “doe year” – and our doe year was rapidly becoming less likely!
