Ask A Jonas – Greyden’s Favorite Book

We get asked lots of questions when we’re doing farm toursselling soap at craft fairs, or simply running errands.  Since most of those answers are heard only by the person who asked, we decided to share some of the common questions here on the blog.  And of course you can ask a question of your own!

Greyden, what’s your favorite book? ~Adrianna

My favorite book series is the Percy Jackson series*. My favorite book in the series is The Battle Of The Labrynth* – because it’s got an underground maze that grows and grows, and time is different in the labrynth.

I love it because Percy is awesome. Percy is awesome because I’ve always liked swords, and he’s really good at using them. When he was twelve he killed the Minotaur. He’s the son of Poseiden, who is my favorite Greek God because he’s the God of the Ocean, which I love.

I usually am not much of a reader, but Percy Jackson made me want to read. I read a 300 page book in three days, because it was so awesome. I’d never done that before!

  1. Many good reviews but after reading the least likes reviews on amazon won’t be getting these books. Guess if you don’t like Harry potter you won’t like these.

    • Every family has to make their own decisions on these. Me – I think Greek and Roman mythology are really great at teaching children the difference between “gods” and the One, True God. It is wonderful for helping children to understand what idolatry is. And as long as there is a real difference between “good” and “evil”, they can read it. When the lines between good and evil are blurred – they need to be a lot older to read them. Plus, I really like my boys reading about “heros”. I think that’s important for them to know what true courage is. PJ
