Feeding Your Family IV – Teach Children to Cook I

Busy Mom’s Survival Guide Podcast Episode 047.
My children all learn from a very early age how to cook.  I teach them based on their individual maturity levels and abilities more than I do their calendar age.

By the time they are pre-teens, they are fully capable of following a recipe and making most meals.

This podcast series is broken down into 3 parts.  During this first episode, I discuss the reasons why you should teach your children to cook.  I also cover some of the safety rules with teaching children cooking skills.  And then I give you an idea of some of the tasks my children are able to handle in the kitchen at different ages.

Do your children help to cook?  If so, what do they do at their current age?

Thanks for listening!  Please join me next week as I continue the series on teaching your children to cook.

    • Thanks! Yes, we do something similar although we make a huge bowl of it because we could never handle that many mason jars. We eat way too much. LOL PJ

  1. Thanks for the encouragement to teach my kids how to do more in the kitchen. After listening to your podcast I taught my 5 year old how to make scrambled eggs. That’s now his job. I am enjoying your blog and podcasts so much. Thank you!
