Jason

Jason is one of our barn cats. We have two – Jim Bob and Jason. We used to have three, but we lost John Boy (actually we’ve lost several John Boys).

Jason is a super mouser, which is important when you have little boys feeding your goats and spilling grain everywhere.

The other day, I walked into the soap room and saw a mouse. I thought to myself, “Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a mouse, Jason must be getting lazy.”

Half an hour later, Jade and Indigo started screaming because Jason had the mouse in their soap room play room. And it wasn’t dead. And they were in there with him (and the mouse).

Fast forward to this afternoon. We were all in the soap room working, when Indigo got all upset.

I admit, I wasn’t paying much attention.

Jim finally figured out why she was hollering. It appears this time, Jason topped himself. Instead of playing with a live mouse in her playroom, Jason left a dead rabbit in there. (Jim adds – it wasn’t actually a dead rabbit – it was just the rabbit skin and feet).

Jim wanted to know if I wanted him to take a picture of it for you. I told him we’d all pass.

Poor Indigo, she’s not very happy. But she’s cleaning up her playroom to make sure there are no surprises left in there!

Ahhhh… the joys of farm life.

  1. Don’t forget Mary Ellen, Ben, Erin and Elizabeth. Two more goat names for you. Myrtle and Gingerbread. The Waltons is one of my favorite tv shows.

    • I never watched the Walton that often. We have the DVDs, but we’re still working our way through all the Little House ones. PJ
